ABLE's Video Conferencing Almost Anywhere service
is different than traditional video conferencing.
Rather than using specialized equipment and phone lines,
our service leverages the power of secure internet streaming,
or "webcasting" using standard broadband internet
available almost anywhere now. Your own laptop is a powerful
video conferencing unit - why not use it?
Frequently Asked Questions:
1. What are the cost savings?
To add video conferencing to your next ABLE Video Depostion
is a flat fee of $200. Compare that to a traditional three-hour,
three-way video conferenced deposition which costs between
$1800 and $2700.
2. Does it cost extra to add more conference sites?
No. Watching the deposition at multiple sites costs the
same.
3. Do I need special equipment?
All you need to participate is a broadband internet connection
(T1, T3, DSL, or Cable Modem), a computer that will show
an internet video stream, and a speakerphone. A minor software
download might be required to bring the receiving computer(s)
up to 2006 video codec standards. We provide easy to follow,
full documentation to all parties invited to the deposition.
We recommend you consult your inhouse technical support
team to evaluate if ABLE's Video Conferencing Almost Anywhere
is right for you.
If your computer can enjoy streaming web video, or video
chat services such as AIM or iChat, you can receive ABLE's
Video Conferencing Almost Anywhere.
NOTE - tight internet firewalls can sometimes block streaming
internet media. Please verify your computer can view our
service by sampling this demonstration feed. Click

Player, please consult your in-house technical support.
3. Does the Deposition site have to be in a special
location?
A Broadband internet connection (T1, T3, DSL, or Cable
Modem) is required for a our stream encoder. Firewalls are
generally not a problem as we're sending information out,
not in. An informative white paper is provided for your
office I.T. personnel.
Even rural areas today have significant broadband installations,
and we can link small town testimony with big city council.
4. How long does it take to set-up?
We request an additional hour for the video conferencing
set-up, and the earliest video-conferenced deposition to
begin at 10 a.m. Mountain Time.
5. What's the quality like?
Surprisingly good. The picture comes from our expensive
3ccd deposition cameras, and the sound comes from professional
microphones through a 12-channel sound mixer. We 'prep'
the signal for streaming and compromise it a bit so it will
work on more computers. The resulting deposition shows up
as a small window on your laptop, with little delay. To

6. What's the downside?
None, depending on your expectations. A $2,500 three-way
video conference from a traditional Video Conferencing service
provider would allow you to view on a 32-inch screen, compared
to our $200 service that you'd view in your own office on
your own laptop. It's a compromise in quality, but a huge
cost savings and you don't have to travel to the special
video conferencing site. Plus, you can add deposition participants
at no extra cost.

additional counsel watches from a far distance and can contribute
questions or suggestions to lead council via Blackberry
